A Few Words

About Me

Hi! Hallo! ¡Hola!

About Me

I am a freelance translator based in Mexico City. I did a BA in Spanish language and literature, and a PhD in modern languages. I love translating books and articles. My areas of expertise are humanities (literature, art), philosophy), and social-science content. I have also experience in commercial translation. I also provide editing, revision of translations and generate content. I am a member of the Organización Mexicana de Traductores.

I am a published author (novels, short-stories, essays and drama).

In my spare time, I write about literature and literary translation.

Have a look at my profile in Proz.com or in LinkedIn.

About Me

Invest in human translations

Nowadays, localisation, transcreation and other terms are used to describe what used to be known only as translation. These terms, at the end of the day, have to do with human and professional work. Translation software helps transfer words from one language to another, but it cannot cater to the lexical usages of a particular region (localisation), nor does it have the creative resources to play with words or adapt lexical images in other languages (transcreation).

About Me

Spanish Lessons

I also teach Spanish as a foreign language. I studied Spanish and Spanish-language literature as my BA. I have 15 years of experience as a teacher of Spanish as a foreign language. Classes are taught by Zoom; they are personalised and participants advance one level per course. The levels are those referred to in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (A1.1, A1.2, B1.1, etc.) The costs start at 27 EUR.
